The Mission of Mercy Empowerment Center, Inc. is a faith-based organization that was created in 2000 as an outreach of Reid Temple A.M.E. Church (www.reidtemple.org) to meet the needs of the interfaith and larger community. The Center is designed to provide relief to poor and distressed persons including assistance and referrals for food, clothing, shelter and healthcare. Programs also address holistic solutions to situations such as dependency, illiteracy, poverty, unemployment and family violence and abuse. The Center will provide resources for assistance for continuing education and job readiness training to empower individuals, particularly economically disadvantaged persons.
